A word about the Black Chamber of Commerce of Anne Arundel
County, Inc.
The BCCAAC, Inc. was conceived and organized by the Rev.
Dr. Walter E. Middlebrooks. |
 |
Its existence was the result of several meetings with community
groups called by Rev. Middlebrooks to discuss economic issues
affecting African Americans. Many of the chartered members attended
those meetings. BCCAAC’s mission and purpose as envisioned by its
founder, is guided by the belief that small businesses are the bedrock
of America’s economy. In fact, according to the MBE Magazine,
September/October 2002, small businesses created 75% of America’s new
jobs. Small businesses account for half of our national employment,
and nearly half of our gross domestic product. Minority-women-owned
businesses are growing segments of this small business population, and
their success affects the nation’s overall economic health more
significantly than many people realize.
The Black Chamber of Commerce of Anne Arundel County, Inc. recognized
the potential contribution of MBE’s and therefore, commits its
resources and energy towards the practice of
Advocacy-Education-Networking-Facilitation- and in general helping to
create a climate that will improve the playing field for MBE’s and
particularly, African Americans. BCCAAC’s goal is to raise funds for
the purpose of promoting and aiding in the development of MBE’s.
BCCAAC is a tax exempt IRS 501 © 6 trade association. The BCCAAC was
organized in April and incorporated in September of 2002, by legal
counsel, Mr. Midgett Parker, Esq.
